<p>I hail from CT!!! I was born in CA!!! I lived in MD!!! and VA!!! Anyway, that has nothing to do with my post. I want to know my chances at getting into MIT EA. Im hoping for a good interview, essays will be good-excellent?, and my recommendations will be very strong. btw, Im white and a male, which obviously changes my chances at admission. So help a brotha out. You dig?</p>

<p>Intended major: mechanical engineering, with a minor in robotics. Any responses would be greatly appreciated (and no sarcasm please!). My stats are below: </p>

<p>My only worry is that I dont have any research. Will MIT take into account the fact that there are few opportunities for research in mechanical engineering, especially for a high school student, when compared to other fields such as biology or chemistry?</p>

<p>I am curious why you are posting here. Surely you must realize your stats are nearly perfect? MIT is no sure-thing, but your strengths as a student are certainly apparent. Don't mess up the rest of senior year and write a coherent essay and you should get in.</p>

<p>I like nerds, so I'll reply. I think you've got a great shot- you've obviously got the neccessary math talent, but you're also nicely rounded and involved. The awards are great, the fact that you have a job is excellent. Nerds are awesome, and you're an amazingly strong candidate wherever you apply- Good Luck!</p>

<p>I'm just a mom, but here's my opinion. You look to be a very competitive candidate. The lack of research experience shouldn't keep you out. As I'm sure you're aware though, most of the students who apply are qualified to attend and only 16% are admitted. </p>

<p>we just entered, no win for us. Our school did win the national competition three years ago. Sadly, it was cancelled this year, so we're doing JETS, a sister competition. Anyway, your team is given a certain problem, and you must design and build a new product that solves the problem. This also includes marketing the product, keeping cost in mind, etc... so very much like the real world.</p>
