Chances for a Scientific Actor - How will my ECs affect me?

If you've started reading this, thanks! Here are my stats:

I go to a public high school in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Community Service:
None, really.

Job Experience:
None. I did intern with younger groups at the Shakespeare troupe, though, and will be working there next summer fulltime.

Awards:
AP Scholar with Honor
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist (so far)
Maryland Distinguished Scholar Honorable Mention

I'll have pretty good recs from my teachers, and an amazing rec from the woman who runs the Traveling Players Ensemble (the organization I mentioned).

My interests are chemistry/physics and theatre. I think I want to major in chemistry or physics and either minor or, if that's not possible, double major in theatre. I don't know how Macelester deals with that.

I know that my ECs are a lot more focused than many of the other lists I've seen on CC, and I think they demonstrate my passion for theatre. How much do you think my ECs will affect my chances of admission? People on the Swarthmore board told me to basically make myself "the theatre guy" to the admissions office by visiting several times and meeting with the head of the theatre department, by writing about it in my essays, etc. Do you think Macalester cares as much? Macalester is much further away than Swarthmore is, so it would be a lot harder to make myself known (email is, of course, always a viable option).

I'd appreciate any input! Thanks in advance :).

You could call or e-mail faculty in the theatre department.

I don't know specifically how to handle it because I was of the "list what I did and if they don't like the way I put it I don't want to go there anyway" school. But I will say that your ECs look a lot like mine and I got in (and go here). My essay was music-related, but it was more about bouncing back from disappointment than music.
