for someone who has completed only one semester of college, what GPA would you need to transfer into the SOM?(I think Binghamton only requests your high school transcript and college transcript)

you need at least a 3.5-3.7 to transfer into SOM. SOM is the hardest school in Binghamton to get into, and you need that GPA just to be considered. Admission is based on space availability as well as grades and they normally give priority to juniors and any other upperclassmen applying to get in. It's also recommended that you take micro and macro econ, elementary stats, and business calc. Do really well this semester and then fill out an IUT for the fall. Good luck!!

thanks for the reply, last semester I had a 3.7. By the way exactly is an IUT?

IUT stands for intra university transfer. it's like a one page form that you fill out when you want to transfer from one school within Binghamton to another.

unless you're transferring from outside. in which case i feel partially retarded for telling you about that

im transferring from an outside school

are my chances still the same even though I'm transferring from an outside school?

I would say with a 3.7, you have a good chance following that everything else is on par.

yeah. i actually heard once that it's harder to transfer into SOM from within another school in Bing than it is to transfer from an outside school. So you might actually have a better chance. I'm not really sure if that's true though, makes no sense.

thanks for all your replies, my application is complete, hopefully I will hear a decision sometime by early March, maybe later.
