I am wondering if I have any chance of being admitted into these schools:
Yale
Brown
Dartmouth
Amherst
Pomona
University of Chicago

Grade:12
Ethnicity/Gender: White male
School: Smaller public school in Wyoming

Grades: 4.0 GPA un-weighted
Rank: School does not rank, but I am at the top
A.P.'s taken/taking: Physics B- 5, U.S. History- 5, English, Calculus, Government, Physics C- currently taking these 4

Scores
SATI: 2180 (800CR, 710M, 670WR) retaking in Dec.
SATII: 770 Physics, 760 U.S. History, 740 Math 2c (I have taken the Math again, should be over 750)

Extra Curriculars:
9th. Grade- Mother Died, didn't do much
10th. Grade- HOBY Youth Leadership Conference, Track, NHD State Finalist
11th. Grade- Unpaid internship in special education department of the high school, NHS member, Track
12th. Grade- Head Representative of Student Council, News Director of school Radio Station, NHS member

I know that my EC's aren't that strong, but there just aren't enough extra curricular opportunities at my school. There is no newspaper, one or two clubs at most, and not many leadership positions. I know this won't cut it for Yale, but how about some of the lower ivies. Also, how many points do I need to add to the SAT score, and what are my chances at some of those LAC's.

His SATs are fine. As long as they're above the school's average. Especially if you're not from NY, CA, MA, NJ etc...... Is your school rural and/or low income (no ECs)? That would really help.

i love how the OP defines himself by the state he lives in..... oh how I wish I lived in a state where adcoms were itching to accept.....california, not so much

WOW...they have internet in Wyoming? J/K, I'm from Iowa. You have a great GPA, but i suspect your school is about as competitive as Barbaro at the Kentucky Derby (I know I'm going to hell for that analogy). Good Academic Index with those SATs, but ecs weak, especially when schools like Yale and Dartmouth use it to disinguish b/w thousands of people who have those same stats or better. I see Pomona and Chicago as good possibilities, others depend on how much geography helps.
