I am currently an OOS student with a 3.94 GPA. I have not taken any AP classes so a 3.94 is both my weighted and unweighted GPA. My class rank is 24/134 (top 18%). My only extracurricular activities include a part-time job I have had for the last year and a half and one year of JV basketball. My SAT score is a 1370. Is it even worth applying? I would only be able to attend if I am awarded the National Buckeye Scholarship.
Thanks
Your stats put you in range for the Trustees scholarship which stacks with the National Buckeye - so it probably is worth applying.
Will my lack of AP classes and minimal extracurriculars have a negative effect?
Ohio State, as far as I can tell, evaluates on positives (there are no minimum gpas, test scores, class rank, etc.)
Here is their admission criteria:

Note the required minimum college prep required classes in the table. Don’t apply if you haven’t met them (most students do, since they are the minimums for many hs diplomas). Does your course load exceed these minimums? Does this describe you?:

There are no guarantees, but they provide plenty of information about the admitted classes.
