so my UC Davis appeal was successful, let’s see what happens with Berkeley next week…

I called the office today, apparently my appeal is being reviewed even though it hasnt been confirmed on the website…

gd luck fire480

thanks buddy

finally, my appeal has been registered on their website! about time…

I know you already sent in your appeal but just little tips for people:even if you’ve done a million community service stuff and even if you get good grades sometimes they are interested in how certain students can contribute to the campus and how they have overcome stuff like maybe a learning disability. Granted that grades and stuff are super important I think peopple focus too much about that and then they are shoccked they didn’t get in. I know someone who got in ucb with a 3.31 but their story was convincing also if you live in berkeley you should really get to know faculty before u apply. Set up a meeting with a dean of the school ur interested in or find out respected recruiters (like bridges) or join people that will take an interest toward you so that ucb wants u. Joint starting point mentorship program! Or go to multienthnic transfer day. These things are important!!

Also the reason so many people get rejehcted from appeals is because the info isn’t really new or compelling. New and compelling stuff is like your parents lost their job and you need to stay home or the california forrest fires prevented you going something. Usually it’s pretty drastic

Ps sorry for typos I’m on my iphone LOL

You typed all that on your iPhone?

haha yeah I’m bored in my cognitive psychology class yay! Ha

it failed so it looks like Im on my way to uc davis…

Hey people… Berkeley just received my appeal today (a transfer appeal) anybody know how long its normally taking them to update their site saying they have received your appeal. Also how long is the turnaround for their decision normally.

I have a 3.94, meet all the IGETC requirements, have a lot of extracurics, am a veteran, and am currently employed in a field related to my major. Wish me luck!

good luck dude! it took me about 4-5 days after it was confirmed, but it should be sooner for you as they’ve probably finished most of the appeals by now
