I'm an Asian from Rhode Island who has applied to five schools. I moved from the West coast to Rhode Island last year and described how I changed as a person in my college essay. I will be the first person from my family to go to college in the US. The five schools I applied to are:Santa Clara, University of Wisconsin, University of Washington, and Virginia Tech. I will also be applying to Michigan.

I have 3.98 Weighted GPA
3 AP's: History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics
4 years of Spanish
3 years of Honors English Classes
Highest SAT score was 1670.
560 Verbal
510 Math
600 Writing

EC's:
3 year National Honor Society Member
Leadership
Part-time job (20 years a week)

What are my chances?

Santa Clara: Match
Uwisc: extreme reach
Umich: no chance
Uwash: reach
Va Tech: no idea

Is there any way for you to bump that SAT? I mean, you may have a shot at Madison if you applied already and that 3.98 puts you as one of the top students in your class.

the sat definitely will bog you down you done. what community service do you have?

VT = match/slight safety

You pretty much seem like a match for every school you listed, that is if you can bring up SATs, thats really killing you

Michigan, Wisconsin, and UW are all tough to get into because you're OOS. I'd say you need to bring it up to 1900 to be competitive. No offense, but you mentioned 3 years of Honors English, but it doesn't translate on your SAT scores. I know SAT's aren't a good reflection of what you learned, but 560 on verbal shouldn't really happen with honors classes.
