Hey guys! I'm 14 and in the 10th grade (sophomore year; I didn't skip a grade, I'm just the young one in my grade!). I'm planning on going to boarding school for the 2011-2012 year as a junior. I've been a straight-A student all my life (with the occasional B+ here and there). I've gotten academic awards (English, Math, Technology, History) and a few diplomas. I also participated in honor bands.

I love singing, acting, composing music, and playing the piano/saxophone. I have a huge passion for computer animations and have been teaching myself simple animation since the age of 10 (now I'm moving on to 3D). I also enjoy writing and reading, along with community service being one of my favorite things to do. I've never been a huge sports person but I do have a black belt in tae-kwon-do and I love doing yoga or dancing. Hmm... what else. I speak three languages and got a 110 on the TOEFL- I'm natively South Korean. I am planning on taking the SSAT this December. However, in most standardized tests I've been placed over the 95th percentile.

Honestly, I used to be a bit shy in middle school but I've opened up loads and become really outgoing. I know there's that whole stereotype that all Asians are shy and introverted but that's not true for many, many people :) I love meeting new people and traveling, probably because I've moved around so much in my life. However, I am a total beginner when it comes to boarding schools. Of course, I've done some research and asked my fellow friends who currently attend BS, but somehow it feels like I haven't gotten the big image.

Do you think boarding schools would suit me? Would I have good chances as an international student? Any advice or tips would be great! Have a great day everyone!

-Hannah
P.S. The schools I put in the title are the ones that interest me; however, I am still looking and to be honest schools like Blair Academy or Andover sound amazing! Just letting everyone know my choices are not yet set in stone :)
