Legacy- I haveone brother who just graduted in 2008from BC and another who is a rising junior there.

Hook (if any):
Education major and BC is ultimate dream school. I am going to work my butt off these next 3 years in order to get in.

Thank you for reading. Any opinions on my chances would be tremendous.
I know it may be early, but I am just looking for input.

Dear iggycats2012 : It is inspiring to see that a rising High School sophomore is articulately depicting a passion for Boston College. You should well continue your pursuit of excellence to gain admission. However, you first have another two-and-a-half years of academic performance in High School before application time, board examinations, and a million other events. Enjoy those pursuits along the path towards exploring Boston College.

Also, with so much time in front of you, spend time exploring other options (schools/passions) that might interest you. Do not limit your search to BC due to legacy or other reasons - cast a broad net to see if BC is actually the right place for you in several year’s time.

Post again in two years. Let’s see how that 4.1 works out for you.

Nice to see another wildcat on these boards, but don’t be expect to do all these clubs and maintain such a high gpa Ignatius isn’t a cake walk (were not St. eds =P). Btw labre is only open to upperclassmen idk how you can four years of that. Both those trips (Ireland and Latin America) are usually conflicting times and will cost you around 3k to do both. I don’t know you can expect to be 4 years on all these things and expect leadership positions in some of them. If you want that 4.1 (seems a tad bit arbitrary) pick some clubs you are passionate about, concentrate in school, and chill out for a year and half.

The best advice you’ve received thus far is to chill out and explore your passions in high school.

You don’t want to be spending all your high school years trying to do everything that’s “required” for the perfect college application. It risks coming across with a “check off the box” view. Taking time to pursue your passions will enable you to produce a richer application with increased depth of character.

redsoxx, what year did you graduate in? the demand to go on labre declined this year. I went to a lot of the CAT meetings, and there were openings almost every time. As for the 4.1, I have a fairly easy schedule except for Joe Popelka. I have O’Rourke, Johnson, Strauss, eynon, Prokop, and Pecot. Thanks for the advice on the mission trips. Do you think campus ministry would be open to a trip to Appalachia during spring break or in the summer?

I still go here im going to be a senior. Popelka is going to be ridiculous, its basically a AP class. O’Rourke should be a A+, johnson and the rest should be easy(minus prokop hardest theo teacher) pecots nothing compared to corrigan. You pretty much have the same exact schedule as i did sophomore year. there all ready is a trip to Appalachia i think, im pretty sure mr evans goes there with some students

btw would your last name happen to start with s and end with n

it’s one thing to say you will have a 4.1, it’s another to actually do it

mcgraw???

“mcgraw???”

don’t insult me like that

do i know you??

LOL^^^^
wow

no but i knew your brother

what are the first and last letters of your last name?
