Chances for being admitted to Harvard:

I suppose this is my third and final installment of me posting my credentials and asking specifically on the college's forum if I stand a chance... so here I go again :)

Starting with my AP Tests,

AP Biology-> 5
AP Calculus AB-> 5
AP Calculus BC-> 5
AP European History-> 5
AP Physics-> 5
AP Statistics-> 5
AP US History-> 5
Summary: 7/7 5's

The ACT Score: 35

The SAT I Score: 2320
Math: 800
Reading: 770
Writing: 750

PSAT: 231
NMSF

The SAT II Scores
Math: 800
Literature: 780
Physics: 790

Thinking of declaring pre-law

As of Right now, my class rank is unkown, but I'm in the top 3% of my class of 650 individuals.
Cumulative Unweighted GPA: 3.75
Without Freshmen Year: 3.933

Unsure of weighted, class rank is weighted though.

Evident upward curve of GPA over the course of my highschool education, low to high. I understand that certain colleges disregard your freshmen year- but does this mean they recalculate your GPA of the last 3 years of highschool? If my comprehension is correct, this would place my GPA unweighted much higher, I'd estimate: 3.933

Extracirriculars:
*Four years of Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate, attending Stanford Debate camp over the summer, qualifying to Nationals of Debate in my junior year Captain of Debate Team
*Work experience over the summer at Best-Buy
*100+ Hours of Volunteering at a local hospital
(Unsure as of now, I'd estimate 50+) Hours of Community Service
*member of National Honors Society
*member of Philosophy Club
*member of Spanish Language Club
*member of Medicial Club
*member of Community Service Club
*Tutor for 4th grade students in various subjects for two years.
*Tutor for 9th,10th,11th grade students for Algebra II, Trig, Algebra I, Geometry, and Calculus for one year
*Varsity Tennis Player for two years(Love to play on a Varsity Team at any of these universities) Possible Candidate for Captain
*Took Abstract Algebra Course over the summer at a university
*Internship at a hospital(not sure if this will help my chances for pre-law, but meh.)

I also don't think it would be in my best interest to apply EA or ED because my senior year could help my GPA further, along with retaking ACT and SAT.

So Here is my question: With my relatively low cumulative unweighted GPA with freshmen year included, do I stand a chance even with my SAT ACT AP getting accepted to Harvard? And if so, about what chance, if not, why not?
Also - would applying EA/ED here benefit me more then doing the normal RD?

no input at all? T_T;

Decent chance. Your stats are within the competitive range. Not insanely impressive, but solid.

Good shot I say. Depends on how you tailor your application.

Alright.. I see..
Ace- what do you mean by "tailor your application" what exactly am I tailoring my application to? To please harvard? I thought my APP was supposed to be me portraying myself- unless I'm comprehending this wrong.
Anyone else have any at all input on my chances? It's been on my mind constantly

Your chances are higher than 11%. (Harvard admissions rate is 1 in 9, I believe...)

DejectedPanda - Tailor your application to show your character and your main interests.

Gotcha, will do.
So I'm guessing it really just comes down to whether or not my essays really depict myself as a strong candidate to Harvard?

DP: Basically, that's what every application comes down to.

You have a decent shot (at this point around 30%). Your best buy experience and tennis look good, as they make you stand out. I would recommend that you run for a couple leadership positions in your clubs. Seeing "member" so many times is not very appealing:

*member of National Honors Society
*member of Philosophy Club
*member of Spanish Language Club
*member of Medicial Club
*member of Community Service Club

If you get a couple positions, I would upgrade your probability of acceptance to about 40%. If you become captain of varsity tennis, your probability is around 50%. The essays/recs will be very important for you as you are right on the border. Good luck.

Well, if I ran for leadership this would be my senior year, and I would not be able to put that on my application, would I?
Also, I dunno if this counts as a legacy but my uncle went to Harvard..

Yes, you could put the leadership positions on your app.

tupac, you make it sound like she can "put leadership positions on her app" but not actually be in a leadership position.

Your resume is the most padded I've ever seen on CC, and that's saying a lot.

Padded?
What's that mean? Can't tell if it's good or bad... :(

It's not good. I mean, look at your ECs. You're a "member" of about a dozen clubs and not a leader in any of them (at least not in an elected position, besides debate), which only looks like you joined them to make yourself look well-rounded. Not to mention "Medical Club" and a hospital internship, when you want to be pre-law! You look uncommitted. These days colleges aren't looking for "well-rounded," they're looking for stars in one or two areas.

Well, i'm also thinking of pre-med, Medicine does interest me which is why I did those two things- Law is another one of my interests though, sorry if that sounds bland, but Medicine is definately one of my choices...
I'm just a member of four, but I mean, I'm gonna run for positions this year for one or two that I actually want to be

I think colleges will question the level of your involvement in each of those 'member' ECs, and which one you REALLY like. I would highlight the ones you are really passionate about in your essays.

And why do you want to retake 35 ACT and 2300+ SAT?

Yeah, I'll highlgiht the few I really love, thanks :)

And- If i Can get a perfect... why not?

1 on ACT/ 100 More on Sat wont make the difference on your acceptance
