School does not participate in academic competitions so no awards...bad?
Summer job: Worked for a traveling agency, 30 hours a week (6 each day M-F)

Hook: I am latin american and will bring diversity to the school

Being an International Student isn't a hook, it's actually a disadvantage. URM status only applies to American applicants (I think).

Do you have any defined / overriding academic interests?

Congratulations on your standardized test scores. Good luck on your college admissions applications.

I am curious, however, why everyone here seems to list their teacher recommendations as "amazing."

I too, have rarely been 'amazed' that teachers rave about their students.
