I am a current SUNY student looking to transfer to CALS as a junior. My greatest strength is in mathematics and I am looking to transfer as a Biometry/Stats or Info Science major. So far, I have done Calculus I and II, and an upper level independent study with a professor. This academic year (sophomore year), I will also be doing Calculus III, linear algebra, introductory statistics, computer science, and biology. I have done one college writing course and plan on taking one more.

My cumulative GPA (freshman year) is 3.34. I plan to work hard and raise this to at least a 3.5 by the end of the coming academic year. My SAT score was 1640 (highest score in mathematics, which was 640).

From what I have read, Biometry and Statistics, as well as Info Science, are small majors. With a great interest and passion for mathematics and several necessary courses completed, I am hoping my chances are increased greatly.

I have a great relationship with a math professor at my current school, so I have no trouble getting a strong recommendation.

My older brother is currently a senior in the school of ILR and my uncle graduated many years ago.

I completed a summer course (Calculus II) at Columbia University this summer and got a B.

What are my chances for acceptance as a junior transfer student?

Does one have a higher acceptance rate than the other? (Biometry/stats vs. Info Science)
