My SAT's aren't out-of-this-world, and I'm freaking myself out. Should I be? The other thing is that I live in an area that sends BC A LOT of applications (more competition?)

Also… I’ve been a girl scout since 2nd grade and I’m working towards my Gold Award (to be completed before February 2013–will require a lot of community service)

Also… I have over 202 hours of LOGGED community service.

I have a very similar profile to you. I also applied to BC EA. I have better test scores (2120 SAT) but a lower class rank (top ~18%, but my school doesn’t report, so maybe that’s irrelevant anyway). Maybe a bit worse EC’s.

They told me (an admissions counselor) with my old SAT score (1990) that it was a low reach. Now, apparently, I’m a match (just determined that through my own research. I am a bit biased though). I guess you’re somewhere in between? But probably leaning more towards a match. They’ll like that you’ve shown interest in business I would assume

Our stats are also very similar too and I too applied to Boston College EA. I have a higher SAT score (2130) and a tad bit higher GPA (3.93). However, our subject SAT scores are extremely similar (with the two scores being flipped- I have a 720 in Math 1, and 670 in Math 2) and we do not necessarily have a similar interest in clubs, but a similar amount of involvement in the school and community. I also have a part time job.

That being said, I find Boston College difficult to predict. I would like to say that I am a match for this school, but am most likely biased, based on my stats, but I know that Boston College puts a lot of weight on volunteer work and community involvement and admissions can sometimes be a toss up. I would say you, like me, are definitely in the ball park, with maybe the only thing holding you back being your SAT score (Which is towards the bottom of their 50% range.) So if you wanted a “chance,” I guess I would say you fall between a low reach and a match.

It’s a match, but not a safety; you need backups.

If you don’t like your SAT score, you can always study and retake it, if you have the time. Boosting it is not particularly improbable, unless if you’ve already taken the exam several times.
