Job/Work Experience/Volunteer/Community service: I work(ed) for/with various local -> state politicians, including at one point the Comptroller of NYC. I helped in various campaigns, political events, fund raisers etc, interviewed as part of a campaign of one of said politicians. Received a rec. from high ranking politician, I read it over and it rocked.

Summer Activities: Working with politicians on campaigns etc

Intended focus: Management/Leadership (where available) otherwise PoliSci.

Essays:
Personal Statement: Very very interesting way I wrote it, I don’t want to go into specifics about the structure but it was very different. About my “life story” per say and how I realized exactly what I wanted to do. I was told by multiple professionals and peers that it was one of the best they’ve ever read.

Teacher Recommendation: Both hopefully good.

Counselor Rec: He really likes me and noted how I helped my peers with their applications.

Additional Rec: States above.

Additional points: I connected my interest in politics to business throughout my apps when it was necessary. A major part of my application is the “crazy”, for lack of a better word, changes I’ve made to my life. In school, out etc. This was integrated into my essay. I lost 52 pounds amongst other things.

I was rejected from Northeastern today, and Columbia ED. I applied to way too many schools, but these are some of the schools I think I might have decent chances of being admitted. I thought the same for NU, but I guess not.

Forgot to mention a little tidbit: I’m also on a TV Show, mentioned that in my list of ECs.

Bump

by GW do you mean GWU? (George Washington University) because I’m from Washington DC, and many kids get in with averages and test scores below yours, so I believe that you stand a chance.

@ds0501 isn’t NYU really expensive?

@verizonwireless‌ yes and yeah im well aware of that haha!

bump

I think you should apply to Yeshiva University, its a top 50 and your stats seem inept.

Someone is just a tad upset that I ignored his/her message pleading to read my supplemental essays. @verizonwireless‌

why would I be upset? @ds0501, if you don’t want to send me them, its fine.

@verizonwireless why would OP apply for Yeshiva University? What in their post made them out to be a modern orthodox jewish person?

@deedee98 because it says “jewish”

@verizonwireless theres a huge differences between someone being ethnically Jewish and YU even being a remotely good fit for them. YU is a quite religious school where OP would be taking Jewish class until minimum noon every day. YU is incredibly self selecting and the sort of person applying to Northeastern probably would never consider YU and the other way round.
