And I was really sick my freshman year, which gave me a poor GPA for that year. I was out of the classroom about half the time; I'll probably include that in the common app part where it allows you to explain part of your application.

Brown is not a reach for OP. lower your targets a few levels down unless you have an amazing hook that Stanford is looking for. Else your GPA will not get you in the door at any Ivy League level school.

sorry, i don’t know why i mentioned stanford in my post earlier. Ivy leages + Stanford only accept exceptional applicants. your grade is not high enough for the top tier schools. again, i don’t see anything unique in your profile to make you stand out.

I think myboby123 is way too negative. You said your ‘low’ GPA was because you were sick freshmen year- what’s your GPA for sophomore+junior year?

High reach. Even with the gpa, I don’t think the test scores and extracurriculars are extraordinary enough to make one stand out among the ivy league schools. But who knows?

When I say reach, I make no distinction based on whether it’s reachable or not unless otherwise asked.

For McGill to be a safety, considering freshman year is not counted, you only really need to keep a 4.0 average for the rest of junior year and 3.8+ for the first quarter/half of senior year.
