Thanks in advance!

You’re unlikely to get much financial aid, if any at all, at OOS publics. Are your parents able and willing to pay full OOS tuition?

^exactly. Why are you applying to only public schools and all around the country? Look for some private schools.

UTAustin is unlikely, but that’s all I can say for sure.

Your GPA is too low for Penn State, it’s 2/3 of their decision, and you’re below the bottom 25%

And why not apply to public schools? I’m applying to a whole bunch of OOS public schools. I’ve got a scholarship they’ll take care of tuition, but public schools seem like voodoo on this board…

^Most of those schools are public. Of course there’s nothing wrong with public schools, but they don’t give much aid to OOS students. The OP would be paying 50k+ every year to go to one of these schools. Many kids fall into the misconception that public schools are cheaper. Frequently, they are not. There are some, like U Minnesota and U Alabama that are cheap or give large scholarships, but most of the ones on this list aren’t cheap.

If you’ve got a scholarship to pay for tuition, great, but not everyone does.

Yes, cost is high for all of these and it is very unlikely that I will get financial aid. Are there any other PRIVATE schools that you all would suggest for an urban campus with a good communications program?

The OP would not be paying more than 35k for Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Minnesota is about $15,000 total and Madison is about $20,000, because I am a MN resident.

What if you’re out of state? I’m really interested in Minnesota and Madison.

MN= ~$24,000 and Madison= ~$32,000

university of iowa is a good all around school, so is purdue. go on cappex, they show a scatter plot

I will be doing on site admission for Purdue at my school this fall!

Bump???

University of Washington has gotten much more difficult to get into - for my senior daughter’s Catholic high school, the average gpa and test scores of students who get accepted: 3.78, 1224/1600 SAT, and 28 ACT. (Average of over 500 applicants over about 5 years) Out of state tuition is very high, and there is virtually no scholarship/merit aid offered. Financial aid we were offered for our older daughter who graduated from UW this spring was all loans, which we declined.

You’d be better off with a public university in your own state, or a private college that offers merit aid for students with your stats.
