Chances for CA Med-schools

I’m not sure how this forum works. If this post should be moved, please do so, and I apologize.

I was wondering how a UCI psychology and social behavior major and biology minor with 3.64 and an unknown MCAT (but 38 averages on practice tests) would do with regards to top California medical schools. Involved with three research programs, some in psych, and one will be published, Volunteers mentoring high school students. Anybody have any idea? I apologize if this is the wrong place for the post.

1.) What's your race? (URM, ORM, or caucasian)

2.) What's your BCPM GPA?

3.) Do you have any clinical experience?

4.) These 38's - what's the breakdown? How's your writing score?

Chances threads are almost useless for med school admissions due to the relatively arbitrary nature of the process, not to mention the importance of your personal statement and interviews.

This is not me, but the person it's for is white, not sure about the bcpm, I imagine 3.3. Does volunteering at a diabetes research clinic count as clinical experience? I'm not sure abuot the 38, lets just say even with good writing score. I think the personal statement will be pretty good, and the interviews good, if he gets them.

I apologize, I didn't know chances threads were almost useless. I'd take any predictions, but, if few predictions can be made off of what I said, what are the names of the websites where they list people by school, GPA, and MCAT score, and say how far each school took them in the process (given interview or not, ect)?

3.3 is going to be a pretty serious problem.

Yeah, it's just a guess, I'm sorry I don't really know this stuff- it isn't for me.

You'll see on mdapplicants that there are people who get into Harvard but don't even get an interview from UCI med school, etc. There's just too many variables besides GPA and MCAT. 3.3 is a pretty low BPCM GPA. It will make it very tough for him to get into any top CA med schools on the basis of that alone. Whether he can pull off a 38 on the MCAT is another question mark.

Thanks for your help.
