CHANCES for Chapel hill, SUNY's

I am currently a sophomore looking to transfer to a SUNY school. I am a biology major, with a pre-health concentration, with hopes of becoming a Physician Assistant soon. I have completed 33 credits so far, and as of january I would have completed 52 credits. Last semester i had a 3.73 gpa and made the deans list, while with my summer class i just completed I have a 3.37 overall gpa. I have taken around 5 AP classes in high school, had over 500 hours of community service and a state award for excellence in community service. I was in the top 30% of my high school with a 3.4 gpa also.

I plan on applying to the following:
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Oswego
University at Buffalo
University of Albany
SUNY Stony Brook
SUNY Oneonta
possibly UNC Chapel Hill too

What are my chances for these schools? or any other schools i should possibly look into transferring to?

Is it really that difficult to transfer into a university in the spring as compared to the fall?

Anyone out there???

I think you have a decent chance at all of those. Your high school credit won’t make a difference since you have over 30 units already completed. Where are you currently?

i am currently at a suny college on long island, but it is not a school that focuses on science majors which is what i need.

You have a great chance at all the SUNY’s (with the exception of Stony Brook and Binghamton). You do have a great gpa but those two suny’s are quite picky, especially when there are Harvard-bound kids applying to Binghamton and Stony Brook as safeties. UNC is a reach, but you should apply to the schools that you want to go to. I’m at Stony Brook right now and they accept transfers all time. Maybe you should make an appointment and ask them if you are a solid candidate :)

oh thanks for the advice. I wasn’t sure if stony brook did that. Thats what i heard that they take transfers in easier than freshman’s.

maybe i should call the transfer advisor then
