I am currently a female senior at a high school in South Carolina. I have loved Clemson since the first day I visited. My sister and many other family members (cousin, uncle, etc.) have graduated from there, as well. I applied August 6th for Biological Sciences or Health Science, but I was wondering what are my chances to be admitted there?
I have a GPA of a 4.1 on a 5.0 scale and a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Those are both reasonably low for Clemson.
I am ranked 83 out of 333.
SAT: 1230 out of 1600 (640 Math and 590 for English) retook it again December 5th, waiting for test results.
ACT: 25
AP: AP Human Geography and Calculus AB
Enrolled in dual-enrollment courses currently (A’s in both)
Extracurriculars: Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Environmental Awareness Club, Key Club, Be a Fan Club (special needs encouragement program), Spanish Club, Varsity Competitive Cheerleader-4yrs, All-star Competitive Cheerleader, and Future Educators of America.
I feel like some majors, like engineering and physics, drive the average ACT’s, SAT’s, and GPA up. Having said that, I don’t know how competitive Biological Sciences is, but I have never heard about it being super competitive. Just because your ACT is lower than average does not mean that it is lower than average for your major. Clemson accepts to a major. So, maybe you could look and see if their Biological Sciences department has a statistics page somewhere. That might give your a better idea of where you are.
