Hi, I was hoping some of you fine people would be gracious enough to give me my honest chances at these schools. I'm looking to going to college for either Computer Engineering or Physics, but I'm not 100% sure which major I would prefer, both seem like fun viable options as a career afterwards. Anyways I'm getting pretty stressed out about these colleges because they all seem to be match/reach schools and although I'm confident I'll get into at least 1 I still worry a lot. Some feedback would be great.
Heres my stuff:

Senior Courses/ Course Rigor
English 4 Honors / AP Calculus / Anthropology Honors / Band / Statistics Honors / Engineering (receiving honors credit for this class)
Throughout high school I have gradually taken more honors classes as well as increased my GPA with each year so I've had an positive trend.

Grades/Scores
-GPA: UW (High 3.9) W (4.56)
--School doesn't calc UW GPA. Weighted: A+ in honors = 5.3 A= 5
-Ranked 10/305
--Straight A's Freshman-Senior year with the exception of a B+ in Algebra 2 Honors
-SAT I: Took Twice ( 600/650 CR, 680/650 Math, 510/620 Writing)
-SAT II: Taking December
-ACT: 27 Composite (26 English, 28 Math, 30 Reading, 24 Science, 9 Essay)Submit? Y/N
-AP's: AP Government & Politics (4), AP Calc (Planned)

EC's
-Tennis: 4 years total -3 years Varsity/ Captain Senior
-Track: 1 Year total- Varsity
-Chess Club/team: 4 years/ Captain Senior
-Math Team: 2 Years (Soph/Jun)
-National Honor Society
-Volunteering Club (seniors only)
-9 years golfing league.

I feel like I have good grades and such but I lack a lot of volunteer service and other things that make a student pop out. Only community service is that from the volunteer club and so far I have under 50 hours total. My best hook is that I'm part black.

Colleges
-Carnegie Mellon University - First choice (high match/reach?)
-Worcester Polytechnic Institute - Second Choice (match?)
-Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - Would Attend (match?)
-Northeastern University - Would Attend (match?)
-Cornell University - Would Attend (Obvious reach)

My parents want me to apply to more schools such as Ivy's just for the chance, but I feel like its a waste of effort and money. I plan to add a couple of safety schools but I can't find any safety schools I would enjoy attending. I want to go to school to learn and get a good career afterward not party and waste my time and money. Can I get some help here?
