One of 8 people in my class of 110 chosen to be a prefect - a BIG honor at my school

APPLICATION:
Recommendations: amazing. My English teacher said mine was "damn good". and i have no reason to believe the others will be any less- i know all my teachers very well.
Essays: I am not worried about that, I can demonstrate my love for the hospitality industry and business.

I would like to stress my independent study for next year...this summer and all next year my job and one of my classes will be the independent study: planning, running and figuring out how to accommodate the hundreds of alumni and caterers and people throughout the year at my school. This includes working hand in hand with hotels, b and bs and inns all around the area...i am really excited and will definitely write about this experience in my essays.

I will be applying to either the BUSINESS SCHOOL or program or HOSPITALITY SCHOOL or program. i.e. Cornell I will apply to the Hotel School

I hope hope hope that this is enough to get into Cornell ED....

What are my chances maybe for:

Cornell University (ED)
American University
Boston University
Florida State University
Georgetown University
New York University
Providence College
Rochester Institute of Technology
Temple University
University of Denver
University of New Hampshire

so...what are my chances?

try and get your ACT up above 30 or so for Cornell.

You're in Florida State though (that's all I can say).

Cornell University (ED)- slight reach...mostly because your ACT is a bit low
American University-safety
Boston University-match or even safety
Florida State University-safety
Georgetown University-slight reach
New York University-match
Providence College-safety
Rochester Institute of Technology-?
Temple University-match or even safety
University of Denver-?
University of New Hampshire-low match/safety

agree with sak09, although BU would not be a safety. RIT would be a safety, although I don't know why you'd want to go there for hospitality.

haha apathy i don't even really want to visit but i said that about my boarding school and i ended up loving it and going there so you never know.

i'll do my best to bring up my ACT...thanks everyone :)

Hmm..if you're applying for the Hotel School, focus on getting work experience or going to their summer program....ACT scores up would help of course with other schools, but with Cornell's Hotel School...not so much I think.

ohhh! nvm..i see that you ARE going to the program this summer :D

see you there in a few weeks!
