Recommendations:
All three of my recommendations (one from guidance counselor, one from French teacher, and one from AP World teacher) are pretty much perfect. Both my guidance counselor and French teacher have known me for 4 years, and my AP World teacher has known me for three years, very close with all of them. Their recommendations speak highly of my character and leadership abilities.

I know my extracurriculars are not spectacular whatsoever but I do have a pretty decent hook. I immigrated to the United States from Russia when I was 8 years old. I had a pretty tough upbringing with my father dying when I was very young and my mom having to be a single mother and having to support her children on her own. I want to major in Economics or Business + International Studies specifically because I grew up with pretty much nothing and I understand what it feels like to live in a country where it's hard to make something of yourself. Understanding how the world works economically would allow me to help those who are struggling financially in developing countries.

I know I have as slim of a chance as anyone else but your opinions are greatly appreciated. :) :) :)
