I want to go to Cornell University. I am applying early decision for Cornell. My unweighted GPA is 3.4 my SAT scores is 2120. Math 740 CR 690 WR 690. My ACT score will hopefully be a 35. I would like to major in materials science. I did an internship in UT Arlington on Cancer cells gene expression and I learned valuable information. How do you think I stack up against other people for Cornell.? I know my GPA is not high enough but I am very active in clubs. I won awards in Model UN and I am the historian for the club. I have over 160 hours of community service.

whats your GPA?

My GPA is 3.4

How competitive is your school? And are you taking rigorous courses?

My school is one of the most competitive schools in Texas. A lot of people did get into ivy leagues from our school.

I took 8 aps
AP Human Geography 4
AP World History 5
AP Chemistry 3
APUSH 4
AP CALC AB 3
AP ENGLISH 4
AP MACRO MICRO 4

Your GPA could have been better but you’re fine. Personally, I think you have little chance getting in this school. Like all Ivies, they are really hard to get into. Sure, some applicants will stand out more than you, but you have to do all the things you can do to make it better. Did you get at least two SAT II Subject Tests? This is required. Do I think you can get in? Of course I do, but just don’t expect admission because “a lot” of students at your school get accepted into ivies. Good luck, and keep on working hard.

I took 3 subject tests

MATH II 740
US history 740
Chemistry 700
