If I apply to Cornell as a transfer student from a community college and my cumulative GPA is around a 3.8 with 54 credits, is it realistic at all to think that I have a chance of getting accepted?

You should include some more information.

I intentionally made this question very short because no one replied to my other posts which included much more information…I assume because they didn’t want to be bothered with reading.

Anyways, here’s my stats from when I started at the community college up until now.

Fall 2012:
- Took 13 credits (Bio 101, Intro to Logic, English 121, Social Problems)
- 4.0 + Dean’s List
Spring 2013: - Took 15 credits (Bio 102, Precalculus 1&2 combined, American History to 1877, Cultures of the Spanish Speaking World)
- 4.0 + Dean’s List
- Joined Phi Theta Kappa Honor’s Society at the beginning of the semester
Summer 2013: - Took Chem 101 (4 credits) and got a B, bringing my cumulative GPA to a 3.875
- Member of Phi Theta Kappa
Fall 2013 (current) - Taking 14 credits (Microbiology, Intro to Film, Italian 101, Microeconomics); I may unfortunately be getting a B in my Microbiology class which will bring my cumulative GPA to a 3.83, or somewhere around there I believe.
- Member of Phi Theta Kappa
- I should still make the Dean’s List even with a B in Microbiology because my GPA for the semester will be a 3.7.
- Volunteered at a Grand Prix event sponsored by my community college, which I heard about through Phi Theta Kappa
- Volunteered at a tree planting event that I heard about through Phi Theta Kappa
Spring 2014 (last semester before transferring) - Will take 14 credits (Anatomy & Physiology I, Calculus I, Macroeconomics, American History Since 1877)
- Will still be in Phi Theta Kappa

Other details
- I only took 1 AP exam in high school (Spanish 5) and I scored a 4/5, which gave me 8 college credits. I’ll just say that overall I didn’t perform very spectacularly in high school.
- I am an Eagle Scout, which I earned in 2010.
- I began working as a part-time Algebra tutor/classroom aide at my community college this semester (Fall 2013), and I plan on doing it again next semester.
- Last year I worked at a small grocery store during the Summer.
- I have a fairly diverse background. I am part Filipino, part Portuguese, part Spanish, and of course American.
- I have a total of 40 credits earned (13 + 15 + 4 + 8 AP credits). I will have 54 credits in about 2-3 weeks when this current semester ends however. By the time I graduate from the community college, I will have earned a total of 68 credits.

Not really familiar with transfer applicants, but I know Cornell is a somewhat “big named” school so I imagine it will be competitive, and I know of many “big named” schools like MIT who I think only accept like 10-20 transfers a year.
