Chances for CSE?

Hello I am a High school senior from a suburb of Minneapolis and I want to major in Computer science in CSE.
My stats are
ACT: 35
W GPA 3.962
UW GPA 3.78
APUSH - 5
AP World - 5
AP Bio - 4
I am currently taking AP Comp Sci A, AP Calc BC, and AP Micro and Marco Econ.
I am also taking English and Physics at a local community college.
I have taken the most difficult math and science classes throughout high school including dual enrollment Chemistry
I am a captain of the schools trap and skeet shooting team and was last year as well
I have been in robotics for 4 years and played soccer for 2.

I know i can take CS in CLA but i would rather take it in CSE in case I want to transfer to another engineering major.

Also what are my chances for scholarships?

Thanks for the Help!

Your unweighted GPA might be a touch lower but your ACT certainly is above average for CSE. Taking the harder math and science courses will also help your case. I don’t think you should have too much difficulty getting into CSE and I’m sure some others will give you a better idea on this forum as well. Best of luck!

^ Ditto. You are in-state and your uw GPA resident is practically a 3.8 while taking the hardest Math and Science in high school as well as dual-enrollment. The ACT is superb; hopefully your math and science subscores are very strong as well.

So very good chance for admission to CSE; however, if you have your heart set on UMN then specify CLA as your backup in order to slam-dunk your chances of ending up there. Be sure to mention your interest in engineering as well. They look carefully at the reasons why an applicant has chosen a particular college.

Good luck!

@JBStillFlying very true are the part about why you’ve specified that college. Most colleges overlap so they can still put people elsewhere. As @JBStillFlying said, mention interests in engineering and why you want to go to CSE over CLA. Again, best of luck!
