National Council of Teachers of English Achievement Award in Writing (national award, came with a certificate to show colleges that recommends admission)

Maryland Distinguished Scholars nominee (I was nominated last year, and the program was defunded this year)

Extracurriculars:
I've played bass guitar for more than six years, with regular lessons for that whole period. Most prominently, I've played in two musicals (one freshman year in school, one before junior year out of school).
Starting last year, I began volunteering three to six hours a week at A Wider Circle, a local anti-poverty charitable organization.
I volunteer four hours a week tutoring math.
Last summer, I took a poetry workshop at the Writer's Center (which is exactly what it sounds like).
I'm a member of my school's Italian Honor Society.

Thanks, everyone.
