Volunteer/Community Service: Other than being a part of the usual organizations [beta club, key club, etc.], I helped teach computer skills to disabled kids sophomore year and volunteered at the local library for a few months.
Essays: I wrote about how I have grown up - moving to the suburbs on a low income, experiencing a parent’s death to cancer, and moving schools twice - and how I used my experiences to challenge myself. My language arts teacher, counselor, and peer all praised it.
Teacher Recommendations: APUSH teacher (very close); 11th grade AP lit/lang teacher (liked my classroom discussions); supervisor from my city’s youth leadership program (said I was very outspoken)
Counselor Rec: Should be pretty good - I talk to my counselor frequently and she speaks highly of my drive and personality.
Additional Rec: Elected senior class president

@lividcreations : Scores and GPA are NOT weaknesses in your case. You are pretty much on par. The only thing that will effect you is looking kind of stereotypical with the ECs and they may be able to figure out your projected concentration (while they do not admit by major, if they read it at the wrong time, they could be bored of seeing pre-med life science majors. There will be others with similar profiles). Either way, you have a good chance, I hope you get in, but there is certainly no guarantee.

Late, but thank you so much for the feedback. Finishing up my application for Emory, UNC, Boston U, and a few others. Emory’s admissions process seems to be very unpredictable based on the ED1 results from my school, but I’m hopeful!
