Hello I am trying to land an investment banking internship with a top investment bank and was curious of my chances.

I am a 3rd year at the University of Virginia. GPA is 3.04. I am in the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy

My Extracurricular activities include. President and founder of the Investment Banking Club, member of the investing club MII, and member of Get on the Street.

For my professional experience, I shadowed a financial adviser at BAML after my first year of college. After my second year of college I landed an internship with Wells Fargo as an investment management intern. I also participated in Google's Bold symposium program.

I am also a part of MLT which is a diversity program similar to SEO.

Do I have any chance of landing a banking internship with one of the BB's or top Boutiques?

Agree with^CHD. But not sure you will actually get the interview given your gpa. At some schools, where there are many applicants, you would probably not make the cut. If you do, you really need to sell yourself on something. Experience and leadership are always desired. Maybe something unusual will also help to get the internship. D1’s interviewer for Goldman was very interested in her ballet/performing experience.

But you still need to get the interview. Generally a 3.5+ gpa is desired.

Got fast tracked with Wells Fargo and got an offer for their banking program, got an interview with Credit Suisse for 1st rounds, final round with suntrust for ibanking in Atlanta, and even got an interview with Goldman Sachs Securities Division for first rounds. Also main recruiting season doesn’t even start until January and I’m not even in the business school. It’s all networking so yea cheers.

What do you want us to reply to this bragging post? Yes it helps to be a member of a diversity program to get a fast track on recruiting that doesnt start till January? It’s posts like these that make people believe that everyone working on wall street are insensitive, obnoxious and not worth knowing.
I’ll leave you with two thoughts, one from people on wall st, one from the bible, you figure out which one is which - pigs get big, hogs get slaughtered, and pride goeth before a fall.
