Hello,

I am a swede who currently is at the end of my junior year at an American high-school in New York. I moved from Sweden about a year ago b/c of my parents work and begun my first year of studies at an English speaking HS.

I would love to go on to University of Cambridge or Harvard and study neurology, and would be exceptionally happy if anyone could judge my chances!

I have taken AP Bio, AP Chem, AP US-History, AP Macroeconomics, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Physics and AP U.S. Government and Politics, and expect to get a 4-5 on all of the exams.

I have about a 97% weighted average.

My SAT score is currently 2050 (CR-650, Wr-700, M-700)
I have taken SAT subject tests in Math II and Biology, with a score of 700 and 760.

Lots of extra-curriculars and have excellent references in both the financial and medical sector!

Would be so grateful if anyone could evaluate my chances!

You aren’t an American citizen?

Your SAT is too low.

No I am not, on visa

Your SAT is pretty low. Unless if you cured cancer, you don’t really have a shot at Harvard.

English schools really care about standardized tests, so if you get high on your respective admissions test, you shouldn’t have too much of a problem getting in.

Your SAT is not in range for either.

I love how you can tell someone they have “no problem” getting into the world’s highest ranked university if they do good on an admissions test. Also, I know everyone on here is trying to be realistic, but for everyone who gets into HYP with a 2390, there’s someone with a 2000. I know, being realistic but way to make someone’s day by saying they have to cure cancer. Chance threads are generally pointless I have concluded.

^ College admissions in England, IMO, are much more straightforward than they are here. They have different admissions tests in England… If the OP really wants to, s/he can probably study really, really hard (enough to be well within the 1%).

What course are you applying for at Cambridge? There is no neurology course. The closest I can think of are Natural Sciences and Medicine.

Simply not true that there are as many 2000s as 2390s. Not even close. And those that do get in with a 2000 are impact athletes and inner city, poor, first gen URMs.

your cambridge application hinges on your interview. and that depends on what college you choose, and who your interviewers are, and the breadth and depth of your knowledge in your chosen course, yes. nobody can chance you for that.

also, at cambridge, all scientists apply to the Natural Sciences course.
