Chances for Harvard/Princeton/Yale for 2014 Cycle!

I am an International Student from India.
I am already applying to Brown (PLME) and John Hopkins and my application for them is pretty much complete.
I want to apply to 2 more places by the 1st of Jan but I cannot decide If I would stand a chance at the three. My main attraction to US Universities is their financial aid policy. Though Harvard, Princeton and Yale are among the world's best universities, it is mainly their need blind aid policy that makes me want to apply to them.
My family is in a major financial crisis and as you might have figured, financial aid is the first criteria I look for.

I am predicted a 42/45 in my IB (I can get that pushed to a 43) and achieved a 82% in my Grade 10 ICSEs.
My SATs were 1990 (660CR, 650M, 680W) and SAT IIs were 740(Bio M) and 630 (Math 2) and this is my major concern. I fell seriously ill on both occasions and could not do well.

I have a lot of extra-curriculars to make up for it though. The list includes:
Volunteered at a Childrens' Cancer Institute for 1 1/2 years.
Volunteered at a Underprivileged Childrens' School as a computer teacher for 1 year.
Founder of my Schools MUN.
Presided over the first MUN in my school.
Represented my school in a couple of MUNs.
Interned at a Psychological Counselling Institute for the Summer.
Was the official reporter of my school for the Times of India (India's most widely circulated newspaper).
Participated and Represented my school as the Lead Antagonist for my city's most prestigious One Act Play competition.
Got Voted Class President for the Year 2013-14 by my classmates.
Held Classes for school faculty on the benefits of cloud computing and moved our entire IB History curriculum to the Cloud to set a standard for the other teachers.
Worked on a Documentary on the Architecture of Kolkata as group leader and chief editor
I have a psychology blog where I discuss general issues in the subject.

Other than this I am currently in the top 10% of my class (ranked 2nd) and got the first prize in Biology and English for the last academic session.

I want to do medicine in the US and for my undergrads, I would like to do major in psychology along with a pre-med track. I want to eventually become a psychiatrist.

I want to know if my application is strong enough to get into one of these three universities or similarly ranked colleges. Will my SAT scores just ruin everything? I'm running out of time and would really appreciate some quick help.

In case you think these three would be impossible, could you suggest some which would be realistically possible?

Someone Chance me?

They’re all reaches despite your great profile. However, you definitely will get there with hard work.

Please chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1594388-will-transfer-better-school-help-me-get-into-my-top-schools-ea.html

No, you won’t “definitely get there” with hard work. Please, set your sights at a more reasonable level so you are not disappointed. You can look at collegenavigator.com for profiles of admitted students. I’m sorry but I can’t stand when kids offer other kids uninformed opinions and further contribute to the arms race of competitive college admissions. You and your family should not bank your future on something that is such a long shot given your stats and circumstances. Good luck.

Your test scores are far lower than their admitted averages, so apply if you want to, but make sure not to keep your hopes up. And write an awesome essay!

You guys mean my SAT scores right?

Those are pretty much the only thing that didn’t go well over the last two years. But, I guess they are enough to leave me out of luck.

So should I bother applying to Brown and John Hopkins? Or will those be a tough shot as well?

I honestly think it would be a waste. You can look into UC’s such as Davis or even Los Angeles. Maybe you should retake your SAT and see what you get. Good Luck!

I would but they don’t offer nearly as much aid. As I said, that is my main concern. I do want to get a Phd. so I will aim for the Harvards for my Postgrad and Doctorate.
Are my ECs and Academics fine?
