Moved around alot Sophomore year (to Kansas and back)
and this really affected my GPA

-GPA UW - 3.55
In 10th grade I changed schools 2ce I moved to KS and back, Lost all of my furniture,
it was a shock, furthermore I did not get the classes I wanted upon returning and my high school did not use my transfer grades.
I am sending the UC's a copy though and I hope they use my KS first semester sophomore grades because then my UC GPA jumps to 4.00
This was a real tragedy, because otherwise I would be looking good for Cal and stuff, oh well =)

GOOD LUCK to everybody that is applying

Your GPA is not that low and everything else is really good. did you write about your hardships in an essay or in that comments section at the very end?

I would say you are in, and should apply to Berkeley without hesitating. You have a really good shot at both.

My stats are somewhat similar, and I got in here (lower GPA w/ higher SAT). You might as well try Cal–if you don’t get in for Fall, you might get spring!

Good luck!

Do you think SD will give me any circumstances points, because im not really whining about the emotional consequences (my hardship wasn’t that bad) but the fact that I did not get the courses I recieved and so my grades, plans and ECs were affected

I think that if you mention the fact that you moved around a lot because of your family you might get some.

But honestly, its probably not a very good excuse that you got worse grades because you didnt whatever classes you wanted.

your fine either way. i know people who got rejected with better stats and got in with worse, its a crap shoot sometimes. bottom line is your stats are within range and you have a good shot

You’re probably in to UCSD so don’t worry too much on that front.

I had a 3.77 UC GPA, 2330 SAT I, 790/790 SAT II, and similar ECs. I had 10x 5’s on AP Tests too, so don’t expect too much from Cal/UCLA as I didn’t get into either.

Aerospace people are pretty cool here, I went to the Miramar Air Show with them in October and they were all super friendly even though I’m a poli sci major just trying to hitch a ride to the show.

Everything seems pretty solid. GPA is a little low, but I think you are in.

I got in with a 3.6/2240

SD nice score

thanks for the opinons guys
