Chances for Honors College?

I have already been accepted to LSU, but I was wondering what my chances would be for the honors college. Thank you.

White Male from Virginia

Political Science B.A.

GPA
3.94/4.0 U.W
4.56 W

Rank
3-4/217

ACT
29 (Definitely retaking, this will hurt my chances)

Enrolled in a Gifted Program, along with taking all APs and Honor classes.

During 10th grade year, there was a problem with our gifted teacher and she deliberately gave everyone in the class a b. This dropped me out of first in the ranking. The board of supervisors and school board are deliberating on whether everyone should be awarded and A or a B, so my GPA/Rank may fluctuate

I was wondering what my chances would be for the Honors College. I would absolutely love to go to LSU, but unfortunately, I will need quite a bit of money in the form of scholarships. I was hoping that being admitted into the honors college would provide aide in the form of scholarships. Thank you for your replies. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!

With a composite of 29, you are recommended to have an English section of 31 for the Honors College. Even if you don't, you're a very likely candidate with a 29 and your other credentials.

For the Golden Oaks scholarship, which is full tuition, you need a 30 ACT. So if you could bump up your score by a point you will be looking at a pretty good scholarship.

You're also a great candidate for a department scholarship. Political Science would fall into the Arts and Sciences college, which doesn't have very good departmental scholarships. LSU offers a major called Political Communication through the school of Mass Communication. The school of mass comm has a 4000 additional scholarship a year called a Manship Scholarship that you might be a good candidate for. You could probably even double major in PC and PS because they have a lot of overlap and you will have a lot of AP credit coming in. It's worth looking into at least.

I hope that helped.
