Is there a smaller chance of getting into stanford, if you write on your admission essay that your intended major is for business (probably more competetive), rather than linguistics (less competetive)?</p>
<p>Universities such as Stanford don’t really pay attention to your indicated major, because they know that a lot of students change majors through their undergraduate careers. Unless your EC’s demonstrate a strong passion for languages/linguistics, I don’t think they would care.</p>
