You bought a lottery ticket. They will call numbers on Thursday. If you win, it will be a great surprise, but don’t expect it. Not because you are not very qualified and deserving, but because it is a lottery among all the qualified and deserving students who applied. Good luck!
You are a qualified applicant to all of the Ivy Day schools. My assumption is that puts your odds approximately in line with each school’s published acceptance rates, ± a percentage point or two. IMO that puts your odds anywhere from a low of 2% (two points below Harvard) to a high of 15% (two points above Emory).
Congratulations on the great acceptances you already have. Those are the best preparation you can have for Ivy Day. The comfort of having those in hand makes Ivy Day almost insignificant.
As all the above posters have noted…your guess is as good as ours. It’s akin to a lottery at this point. But I think you have some incredible options! What do you want to study and what is your favorite school so far?
I think Emory and possibly Georgetown will be a yes. Adding in those, and assuming finances are similar, I would still pick Rice if I were you.
All the others are a crap shoot … your resume is good enough for consideration at the Ivies, but as we all know, the odds are stacked against even superb applicants.
My DS may well choose Rice, regardless of what happens on ivy day. It’s known for quality of life, and happy kids. Prestigious but not pretentious. And the campus is beautiful. Think about what you want out of college and about fit before you visit. Hope you find it to be a good fit for yourself.
I think you have a good chance. Based on the acceptances from Rice and WashU, your application must be solid.
For the ivy’s, it may be more about your story via your essays and application and how that fits with their institutional needs.
My DS got into Brown PLME - ED, and Rice was a very close #2. I personally love Rice based on the campus, culture and unique housing system they have there.
I forgot to mention - make sure you pick the school that is the right match for you.
Brown is very different from Princeton.
Wash and Lee is the opposite of Carleton.
I would say that you would be likely to get into at least one of the schools remaining on your list. I think if you get into more than one, you should feel very fortunate. If you get into none of them, which is a possibility, you have some amazing choices already in the bag.
In short, you’re playing with house money and have great options to further your education.
Just curious. What’s your intended major? Depending on your major, some of your acceptances could be as good or better than your waiting list. Good luck.
Huge congrats on your acceptances so far!! It sounds as if Rice is your front-runner, both fit-wise and cost-wise. If that’s your “worst case scenario” going into Ivy Day, you’re in an enviable position to say the least. I would guess (and hope) that there are at least a few of your still-pending schools that you wouldn’t choose over Rice, anyway. There’s no bad outcome here, just exciting possibilities. And the trend so far suggests that you’ll have at least a few more offers on the table before you’re done. You can only go to one school, so it’s no great loss if they narrow it down for you; love one of the many schools that love you, and enjoy having your pick of some highly coveted options!
