In at JHU, and probably some Ivies.

kirasam - If you are a rising sophomore (are you going into 10th this year?) how were you able to get into TAMS which happens at the end of 10th?

■■■■■ much?

Mu Alpha Theta for three years? I didn’t know that it was possible to enter Mu Alpha Theta in middle school…

60+ hours at community college?

Ohh!! I get it now. I didn’t see that part about assuming your senior and junior year.

texaspg - I was an early applicant. TAMS is not only for sophomores…freshman can apply there too:) so yeah

texaspg - Im assuming dat I’m going to get 60 credit hours at da community college. Like I said, I’m a concurrent student:)

TAMS requires SAT scores. Based on what you are saying, you have nt taken SAT.

[Admissions | TAMS](About TAMS | Texas Academy of Mathematics & Science)

[Eligibility | TAMS](http://tams.unt.edu/admissions/eligibility)

I dont see anything that says you can apply early either. If you are attending TAMS, this thread has no relevance anyway.

texaspg - I applied TAMS with a special application and they allowed me to do it since I finished algebra 2 during my freshman year(: btw, there r very few students who were admitted even if they were freshies( I actually saw those students at the TAMS orientation.) I was eligible cuz I took d SAT n finished Algebra 2. The reason y I didn’t post my SAT score is becuz I personally think the score is too low (around 1900)…:frowning: if I had posted it, people might hav discourage me. So do yu think I cud go to jyu or ivy leagues?xD

remember that you’re only supposed to talk about things you’ve done in high school.
but also, your a sophomore, try and focus on finding a passion then come back and ask for people’s opinion. you’re going to be applying about two years from now, which is a LONG time. just focus and study and continue what you’re doing, and you’ll go wherever you want.

Find an academic and extracurricular focus and work hard on them develop yourself and come back after one year so we can properly chance yourself

And don’t predict anything ,future is very uncertain and your situation 1 year later will be totally different so don’t bank on what you hope

Some of the lower ivies might be mid reaches for you and you JHU seems definitely a low reach to match

Are you going to TAMS? If you do, then you are losing an year of school and so your expected achievements will change.

It is highly unpredictable with a made up resume three years in advance. A lot of changes can take place with the admission policies, your resume itself etc. You need to float this thread when you are in your junior year so you can present concrete accomplishments as opposed to expected ones.

I didn’t go to TAMS because I have some family problems…I know that I’m losing a year of school, so that’s why I’m regretting:( And yeah, I think I should think about this problem when I be a junior lol. It makes my head ache too.

Whoa, you’re all over the place right now
if you keep doing the things you’re doing right now and plan to do

 1. You’ll go crazy
 2. colleges won’t be impressed… at all
