Is all this good enough? What’s really worrying me are my low SAT and ACT scores. Also, do I have to send in my AP Scores? Will it hurt my chances if I don’t?
your act/sat scores are pretty good-except that 25-, so i wouldnt worry that much, but it depends on what school you want to go to and your major–which im guessing is going to be bio
wait, i completely did not read the title for that post^^
So i would have to say yes u probably could get in, i would say to take the ACT again, but its too late by now
@laitnedifnoc thanks for replying! I am really worried about that 25, but I have heard that for ACT they look more at the math and English section…I don’t know how true that is but the school only reports the scores for math and English for the common data set so I am really praying that it’s true.
You have a decent chance. You have an excellent GPA, along with scores that meet the average. Not only that, but you also have strong extracurriculars.
May I ask what your AP scores? They may indicate your ability to perform in college, and Hopkins isn’t an easy school so not doing well on them can indicate your not prepared for the coursework. Furthermore, since you are premed you cannot afford to have bad grades. Your superscores are fairly low and same with your subject 2’s so if you want my honest opinion I would say classes here would be very difficult for you. However, you have a stellar GPA and extracurriculurs. I’d say you have a decent shot if you write out some well planned essays and tailor your application so it’s not just about becoming another doctor because that’s the most overused theme of applications here. PM with any questions and best of luck! : )
I think your a very prepared applicant. Very strong GPA and ECs. I would just watch out for your test scores, they look like the biggest weakness, but I think if you can wow them with your essay, you’ll be fine. All the best.
I would give you a 60% chance. Depends on your essays and if you have any hooks.
Chance me back!

Peer Tutoring President - 200 hours

Debate - 100 hours
President of the Business Club - 150 hours
VP Environmental Club - 150 hours
Babysitter - 100 hours (college councilor told me to add it cus I’m a dude, I hope it helps)
Other stuff like Cross country and Soccer. Also I am a Nat’l Commended Student
Is all this good enough? My GPA brings me way down. What are my chances? Thanks all.
@mikadog I mean you have perfect act and sat II scores…haha but it really depends on which colleges you are applying to. Ivies get tons of perfect scores, so they have look beyond that. The only thing that I can see as a potential negative would be that I can’t really tell what your passions are from your extracurriculars. And yours test scores will most likely make up for your gpa.
@mikadog I know! I hope so too! But if you don’t mind me asking, why aren’t you applying to a ivy for early decision? I mean you have amazing test scores. You have a good chance of getting accepted to one.
I’m glad to see this @mikadog
This shows that just because a school is ivy league does not mean it’s the best place for you. I think you have a good chance for admission and I applaud you for choosing a school you love instead of choosing a school based on its acceptance rate (Even though Hopkins is still very selective!)
