Chances for low GPA, decent test scores?

<p>GPA (uw) 3.5/4.0 (maximum possible is 4.0) The reason for this is my Freshman GPA was really low, but my Junior/Senior GPA was much higher, so major upward trend.
Pretty rigorous classes, but mostly Honors, few AP's.</p>

<p>AP English: 5
ACT: 34
SAT: 2190 (760M 760R 670WR)</p>

<p>I did win regionals at FRC robotics 2012 season, but weak-ish EC's besides that.</p>

<p>Safeties: University of Cincy, Miami (Oxford)
Target: Ohio State (in-state), UIUC, Purdue
Dream Schools: Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley</p>

<p>I think you can get into Miami, Purdue, probably UIUC (so many people from my school go there), The Ohio State, and I think that you have a good shot at Georgia Tech. Great ACT score! If you have a great essay and recs, I think you will do just fine! :)</p>

<p>You have 34 ACT and 1520[cr+math] these are impressive scores. I think you are competetive at all these schools. May be even Cornell. Let me explain, Cornell doesn’t look at Freshman grades and writing section of SAT, which suits you fine.</p>

<p>What is your GPA without freshman year/what was your GPA each year? Your scores are good enough that schools may be willing to overlook the low GPA since you have an upward trend. Also do you anticipate your essay and recommendations will be good?</p>

<p>Trust me You are better than GT. Don’t undersell yourself, I heard Dartmouth applications are down by 15%. You have good Stats and a very good chance of getting into “better” schools.</p>
