Chances for me? Big schools, mediocre test scores, high GPA, many ECs! Happy to chance back!

@carlsandburgsr‌, Whoa! Rice as a match?! I would be extremely happy if that were true! A lot of people are telling me it’s a high match!! As well as Swarthmore? Haha. Thanks for the encouragement!

Everything but the ACT is good. The ivy leagues on your list would be reaches but the rest are either matches or high matches. @PMLAPA‌ @bjjvja27‌ @theanaconda‌ chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1667437-chance-me-for-umd-college-park.html#latest

@IDontKnow4, Thank you for the encouragement!

University of Washington is good. I know that they have incredible rowing. As an Ivy League-level candidate, standing out at a state school may help you get into a fantastic medical school! OSU is definitely a safety. You are in-state, yes? Grades are good. Why are you only taking IB French, and ab initio rather than SL? Any more IB classes? As a full IB student who has also experienced AP, I prefer the way IB approaches learning (it is a lot of work, though.)

Please chance me back?

@steerstraight19‌, Thank you for your kind post. Thank you for the extra insight on U of Washington. I am actually taking French as a pick up language at school. SL would have been too difficult as I had no prior experience with French. Ab initio is basically from the beginning of the language. I will be happy to chance back.

You’re GPA is incredible. But pretty ordinary ECs. If you can take ACT once more and get a 33+, that would significantly improve your chances. So you may want to try that. Otherwise, you’ll need crazy good essays for those ivies.

@nagintapls‌, Thanks man. I totally agree with your comment on the essays. Any way to improve my ECs? I am planning to retake that ACT. I’m happy to see that some of dream schools are considered matches by you! haha.

@Kokko2k15‌ If you want to go into chemistry, do something that relates to chemistry and that shows you are really passionate about the subject.

@nagintapls‌, I see. It’s pretty much too late for summer internships and programs. Any ideas before college apps are due? :3

Maybe do research on your own?

@nagintapls‌, Oh. I never thought of that. I’ll look into that!

You look great! I think it comes down to the essay though, that is what is really going to set you apart from the rest. The EC’s are strong, and getting a 33+ on the ACT would help.
