Sophie, there's really not much to say. Your grades are fine. Your score seem to be in the correct range:

1410-1450 32

You show commitment and excellence in your activities:

SKiing- Participated in the Junior Olympics in Freestyle SKiing. Top 50 in the courtry, top 5 in the state

Also:

When gauging chances, this is what I assume CCers to do:

See if grades and scores are in the range.

Check if ECs are alive -state, nat'l whatever awards- and commitment evident

Make a decision.

So if you see that the numbers are fine and that you do show strength in ECs or whatever, you're in the running. Also,

Tell the poster where they're lacking and make some sort of statement that I just did.

I wish you the best of luck.

tthanks, ive been reading a few of the "chances" threads and i feel as though everyone has like 40 billion EC's and volunteering, but i do almost 99% of what is offered in my school/town (2000 people in town) and it is still about 1/12 of the amount of EC's

It's not so much the amount but how much you excel.

I think your olympic thing is very unique and while not a hook will give you an advantage over applicants with stats similar to yours who probably wouldn't get in.

Shoot, that's a small town. There are 3000 people in my high school alone (one of three in the area!).

Don't worry what the numbers say on paper. It's about how you, regardless of the environment and resources, shine.

I can not stress how much it matters not how long the laundry list of things is but how deep you explore an SHOW THROUGH ESSAYS your commitment to one or two extracurriculurs. I got in early with low-medium range grades/ scores and few EC's, but the ones I did have I wrote a lot about and showed a true commitment to. It'll work. I guarrantee it.
