Hi! I’m wondering how likely it is I’ll make it into these schools as a boarding student (who needs FA) About me:
•SSAT score 2358 (99th percentile overall)
•4.0 GPA all through middle school
•Taking Geometry
•Play squash and soccer (no distinctions or awards in either, though)
•Play violin and piano (for 3 and 5 years respectively)
•won National Daughter’s of the American Revolution Award last year and for a gold medal on the National Latin Exam
•participate in Model UN and MathCounts competition
•i would be a legacy student at Mercersburg, btw
Also, if I got into them does anyone have recommendations for which one so the best? Thanks!
I think your chances are excellent, especially at Mercersburg!
Episcopal High School has a very different culture than do St. Andrew’s & Mercersburg Academy. Best to visit during revisit days if accepted.
In my opinion, you will be offered admission to Mercersburg Academy & to St. Andrew’s School if the rest of your application presents no issues of concern.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll be sure to get to the revisit days if I’m accepted, I’ve heard that advice a lot!
You will have choices. If FA is key… or if you prefer SAS or EHS to Mercersburg, you may need to do something extra to signal your interest, just to make sure they don’t assume you are set on Mercersburg given you are a legacy.
