Episcopal High School, Woodberry Forest School and Mercersburg Academy chances

Do I have a shot at these 3 schools.

GPA : 3.95(3.9 in MS)

SSATS: Reading 87% Verbal 77% Math(ouch. Have not learned geometry yet. 28%) Total 64% I am retaking.

EC'S: Student Council President, Service Committee 2 years, Quarterback and All-Star, Captain in Football for 5 years. Basketball Coaches Award and AAU experience 5 years. Tenor in Choir, Drummer 1st Chair, and Minority

Interviews: At Woodberry, " Great chance of admission and great fit" (Uncle is on Board of Trustees) Episcopal: Great Fit and Good background. The goal on the SSAT is apparently 2100 at ehs and I got a 2073 is that still ok. Mercersburg n/a interview on 1/21.

Please what shot do I have.

I must add that I am applying for 9th grade and that I should be in 7th currently, just turned 13. I also am a section leader and I have done community service at the ARC camp for mentally challenged children for 2 years now, and I am also an After School Aide. My father went to princeton and was a lawyer as well. Please post. I beg you kind people. Please! I want admission, its all I want for christmas, my birthday, and new years, please let me know lol.

I really like Mercersburg, and they have a high acceptance rate so I wouldn’t worry too mich. Obviously you’re gifted since you skipped a grade so thats helpful. Your hook at woodberry should pretty much get you in espeacially with your stats.Just hope for the best but i’m pretty sure that you’ll be making your onto a campus by next september.

I agree. Mercersburg is do-able and you have a good hook for WF. Good luck!

Thanks for your honest reply. I am retaking the ssat, I may be stretching here but what about Episcopal?

Could one of you fine people chance me on Episcopal? Please I really need this help, please, its something that I’ve wanted my whole life. Some chance me please please!

I feel that you have an excellent chance at all your chosen schools. However, you will only know for sure once decisions are announced. Until then just r e l a x!

Thank You all kind and benevolent people for sharing your keen and shrewd insights. You have really helped ameliorate the process of waiting on a decision! But please If all of your viewers could shed some light and deliver more thoughts and/or criticisms, and/or compliments, please please do so!

Thanks

Sincerely,

A dreamer

would not do mercersburg unless you are very rich.

Pdad, please elaborate. Mburg has over 40% on financial aid so naturally, I wonder what makes you say this. Are there opportunities that the FA kids miss?

Feel free to send a PM if necessary.

Yes please P Dad please elaborate! Your input really helps

I retook the ssat and I got 88,87,and 38 in math which is better, total 75%ile

Their was a strong emphasis by girls to wear “hot” clothes. If you did not (even if you had FA - as my D did), you were made to feel excluded. While there are kids on FA, their are probably some of the richest kids in the world and US (including child of a UN ambassador/SS). One of its recent graduates is on Forbes richest in world list.

(I currently am a ninth grader at Mercersburg)
P’Dad while I do agree there are some absolutely loaded families, I come from a not as well off family where I am on about 80-90% FA. Most people don’t care and actually come from normal families where it is a stretch to send their kids to this school. I can’t speak for the boys, but the girls are all really kind and don’t focus on things like that. It could also be your daughter’s class, some are known to be more vicious than others
