Chances for merit aid? (premed)

Hi! I've been searching for colleges for some time now, and I think Case is becoming my number one choice. The only really bad thing about it is the tuition, so I was wondering what my chances for merit aid were.

Profile:

Male/Caucasian/Wealthy family/Chicago

Premed major

Pretty competitive high school, it was ranked in the top 300 in the nation for public schools last year

High school GPA: 4.2 W/3.85 UW

Our school doesn't rank, but top 10% anyway

ACT: 32

SAT: 2040 (I know I had a 710 in math, but I don't remember what the CR and writing were. I'm going to be retaking this ASAP.)

PSAT: 200 (got me National Merit Commended Scholar)

I've taken the most rigorous schedule possible (5 AP's so far)

Senior schedule:
AP Bio
AP Lit
AP Calc AB
Enriched Physics
Health Occupations
Band

EC's:
- Model United Nations Captain
- 3-time attendee of Model UN conference at the University of Chicago, one of the largest in the country
- Correspondence officer for the investment club
- National Honors Society
- Wind Ensemble and Pep Band
- Some volunteer experience for the band program
- Over 200 hours of community service working in the surgery room of the local hospital
- Part time job at local grocery store, about 20 hours a week

Also, what is the best time for me to apply? Thank you to anyone who responds!

I haven't been keeping track of the recent merit aid stats, so I'll let someone else judge that for you. I would suggest that if Case is one of your top choices, you apply early action (Deadline is Nov 1). This is a non-binding way to say that you think that Case is a good place for you, and in the past, merit aid for EA admissions has been a bit higher.

u should get at least 20k

yeah
you should easily get in and receive some $$. There are usually two scholarships above 20k per year. One right around 21k and one upwards of 28k. Case usually changes the number of each they give out every year.

I'm a sophomore now, and it seems like everyone I know who got $$ got the scholarship around 21k.

But yes, I do have confidence that you will get $$. And if you don't, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ask Case to re-review your app. They don't publicize this, but if you do ask them, odds are you will get at least something.

Are you considering the pre-professional scholars program?
