Chances for merit money at these schools

Hello, I am a rising senior and was wondering what my chances at merit would be at these schools and how much you think i could get:
UNC, UMICH, UCONN, Syracuse, Fordham, BU, NYU

GPA: 91.2/100 (UW) my school does not have a 4.0 scale
SAT I Breakdown: 2200: 760(math) 710 (critical reading) 730(writing)
SAT IIs: 700(Biology), 710(US History), (going to take Math IIC expecting 700 min, hoping 750+)

Taken 5 APs, several honors, and only 2 regular classes through 3 years in high school and 8th grade advanced courses. Taking 4 APs senior year. Low GP UW but with a very rigorous schedule and an upward trend (did not work very hard until I realized I needed to get serious around middle of 10th grade)

ECs
3 years cross-country
3 years winter track
3 years spring track

Leadership:
Former Vice President and current President of community service club @ local library

other:
Working hard on my essays and hoping my recs will be impressive as well.

any opinions and thoughts would be great :)

Not very likely for UMich.

not very likely for merit or not likely for acceptance? how is Mich’s financial aid ?

Where do you live? It’s very, very difficult to get merit aid at most out-of-state publics.

In general, colleges and universities that offer merit aid use it to lure students that they really want, but they think would probably go elsewhere without some enticement. That means you often need to be near the top of a college or university’s applicant pool.

i live in NY so yes i am out of state. i know my GPA is not very high but i have an extremly rigorous schedule and high SAT scores so i’m hoping that may help a bit. im in need of decent amounts of merit and/or financial aid to attend most schools…what about the half-tuition scholarship at UCONN? would i be competitive for that?

I have no idea, but I think that in general seeking merit aid with grades that aren’t top-notch in the applicant pool of the university or college in question is an uphill battle.

You might get some informed answers in the UConn forum.

yeah i’m probably more likely to apply to schools like syracuse and fordham, privates in my state where at least there i am above average in the applicant pool and going for some merit, but i’m also going to definitley apply to Umich because my school is kinda’ve a magnet for Michigan so i may get a good financial aid package there

bump thoughts?
