I can’t really tell you about Miami (Farmer), but sooner or later you will be asked these questions. So to save your time a little bit, I’d go ahead and ask:

Which state are you in? Are you asking for Financial Aid? What is your class rank?

Just so you know, class rank and standardized test score are both “Very Important” to Miami, and your ACT is barely above the 25% of Miami University, let alone Farmer.

Im in Ohio. Class rank 163, 33rd percentile. Not applying for financial aid. Also my parents went to Miami as well if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help!

@K9krig Currently you have a 40%-50% chance of admission based on the 26 score alone but your class rank is atrocious and that gpa is horrendous I would say your unlikely to be admitted. I mean come on a 3.36 gpa seriously? 33th percentile? Your chances go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down to 10%-15% chance of admission and possibly lower than that. My advise improve your gpa and class rank as much as you can aswell as try your best to get that ACT score in the 28-29 range then apply and see what happens. I honestly hope you get in fingers crossed.

Since you are a legacy you have a shot.

And to the above poster - don’t be so mean. He/She is a B+ student which is very decent.

Well my weighted gpa is 3.502 if that makes any difference. I didn’t realize my class rank was atrocious though. Thats mostly because I go to a very competitive high school. Will they take that into consideration?

Yes-rigor and competitiveness of high school is a big factor. Many colleges assign a number to rate high schools ie; a school like Andover is a 1, a lousy hs is a 5.

Thanks a lot for the help!

You have a very good chance if you are at a competitive school. My son got in last year with a ACT of 27 and a GPA of 3.7 from a competitive high school. And he got a small scholarship so clearly they accept people with less. And I went to Miami too.
