chances for MICA,RISD,SMFA,Ringling, and other top art schools

Im applying to pretty much every top art school in the country, i know mica and risd care a lot about academics

im a junior
i have been told by all of them that i have an excellent portfolio,
but my gpa is low, what are my chances and chances for a scholarships,i need the biggest scholarship i can get

GPA:2.7 before, its suposed to be up to a 2.9,hopefully a 3.0 by the end of the year
SAT:1730(i will take it again)
PSAT:193

I have won scholastic honorable mentions, 1st place in several small art contests, i qualify for a national hispanic scholar honorable mention,i have my poetry published in a poetry anthology book, im the president of National art honor society, and im in photo club, key club and the wellington art society, i will probably do a summer internship with a local museum, ive taken 5 ap classes, and will take 4 or 5 next year,Im a Duke tip participant, and i also went to vanderbilt summer academy

im just worried that the abismal gpa will overshadow everything else and my chances for scholarships,im especially worried about mica(my top choice)

schools:
Maryland institute college of art
School of the museum of fine arts
rhode island school of design
ringling college of art and design
new hampshire art school
school of visual arts
hartford art school
cooper union(strech)
new world school of the arts(safety)
university of central florida(safety)

don’t worry…as long as your work is strong and you write a good essay.
MICA is a pretty chill school, as if you show your interested and driven then don’t worry about getting in. I don’t know how far you live from MICA but consider having a portfolio reveiw and meeting with an admissions rep. Also…send thank you emails, to ANY rep you meet with, it really makes you stand apart from the crowd. I applied to most these schools on your list (for photo)…& got in with Merit/Portfolio scholarships, (MICA, SMFA, SAIC, AIB, and SVA) & my gpa and/or SATs weren’t super stellar. I’m actually just finishing up with my Hometest for Cooper Union now :)

but don’t worry…just mak your best work & your dedecation and passion will show through.
