I Would like to know what my chances are at getting accepted into RISD, MICA, and MassArt.
I really want to go to Mass Art and my sister actually goes there now.
I have a 3.65 GPA
I am in the top 20% of my class.
For my SATS I got 630 math 630 writing and 600 critical reading
I have been a member of Green Team, Community Service club, and Ski and Board Club at my high school for the past three years.
This year I am taking AP Government, AP Environmental Science, and AP studio as well as Calculus cp, Photography Honors, and English cp
Here are only a few of my portfolio pieces....

I dont think you’ll have to worry too much about acceptance, the talent is there. Your main concern should probably just be regarding how much award money you need.
Put time and thought into building out your portfolio, and get as much professional feedback via portfolio reviews at the schools you want, and you wont have a problem.

jleerea – I have known many Mass Art kids in my time. IMHO, with your portfolio and your stats, you should have NO problem getting in.

In my experience at least, art schools care much more about the portfolio than about SATs. Your SATs are VERY respectable, and you are very talented. IMHO, you should be a shoe-in. Best wishes!!!

I don’t know much about MassArt, but I’ve done a lot of research into RISD and MICA (did RISD pre-college last summer and had a portfolio review, visited MICA and my portfolio was accepted). Your academics are a match for RISD and strong for MICA, and from what I see you have talent. I think your portfolio could use more work from observation (avoid working from photos except for reference-I’ve been told top art schools can tell!). From what the RISD admissions officers told me, they want to see really strong technique paired with work that shows who you are and what your perspectives are.
