Chances for MIT, Stanford, Cornell, Harvard?

I am a white male from NY, and a second term junior at Stuyvesant High School.

GPA: 97.6
Rank: no official ranking, but probably top 10-15 out of 750. (this is in a school where a 90 would be like 350/750)
SAT I: have not taken it yet, but practice scores are generally 2200-2300
SAT II:
Physics: 730
Chem: 750
Math IIC: probably 800
German: probably 800

AP/Post-AP/Honors
-AP Euro 5 on the AP
-AP Comp Sci 4 on the AP
-AP BC Calc (5 expected)
-AP US Hist (hopefully will get a 4 at least)
-Honors Math Sequence
-Computer Graphics (Post-AP)
-System Level Programming (Post-AP)
-Artificial Intelligence (after school college-level course)
-Multivariable Calculus (Post-AP - will take next term)
-Differential Equations (Post-AP - will take after Multiv. Calc.)
-I probably will also take Physics C as a senior

Extracurriculars:
-Varsity Gymnastics 3 years (captain senior year)
-Varsity Soccer 1 year
-Single highest scorer on the American Assoc. of Teachers of German Exam in NYC two years in a row.
-Morgan Stanley Mentoring Program (and possibly research internship in CS over the summer)
-A bunch of art related stuff (school newspapers + other publications)
-President/Vice-President of several clubs involving European + Slavic culture

I am also working on an AI related computer science Intel project but have yet to see how that will turn out.

So..how do my chances look?

i am going to say that
cornell is a possible reach

but i dont think youll have a chance at any of the other three

too little extracurrics or..?

I disagree. Cornell is a match, and the others are possible reaches.

MIT - Match
Cornell - Safe match
Harvard - Match/Reach
Stanford - Match

I'm familiar with Stuyvesant, and that ranking is superb.

I don't know. I'd say Reaches all three, mainly because you have no EC;s related to your academic interests.

Also, I'm counting on my research to boost my ap. Intel Semifinalist would require a pretty amazing project but if I work hard, I think I can make ISEF

you have a point...but math team or cs team in stuyvesant....really hard to get on

one of my interests is architecture and I've done a ton of art related things, as well as some architecture courses

but you're right about the math and science

joining the club is competitive? wow. i understand getting on the team would be competitive, but i think they should let in anyone who wants to join.

i was on the "math team" which is like 350 students but only about 20-30 of those are actually selected to compete...basically you need next to perfect scores on all the competitions they give you to be accepted...

also, just curious, how does one get a 4.0 GPA...in most NYC schools grades are from 55-100, so a 4.0 GPA translates into 100 in every class...for 3-4 years...
I'm guessing it's an all A+ transcript..?

you haave to get amazing SAT scores, and your GPA looks great, and your SAT 2. Cornell you have a good chance, but not the other three

how much do you think ISEF semi-finalist would improve my chances?

some stats from my school...of course this doesnt take extracurriculars into consideration..
just posting the ones nearest to my stats
extremely important to have a hook, as you can see

i might have been a little harsh,
if you end up getting your projected scores then youll have a good chance at stanford

other than cornell, you are talking the top colleges in the nation
first
fifth
and seventh

i am unfamiliar with the nyc grade point system. clarify? 100=4.0?

unless you go to one of those schools that works in conjunction with harvard..

MIT = toss up
Stanford = toss up
Cornell = toss up
Harvard = toss up

well, technically 4.0 = 100 but in my school at least, very few teachers actually give hundreds. I think the highest avg in the junior class is 98.6, which is insanely hard to get. Also even though one is 97.6 = 3.9 and the other 98.6 = 3.94, they seem a world apart---usually in my school around maybe 15-20 people have around 97.6, but only 2-3 have 98+

You have a very good chance at Cornell; the others are a toss up. MIT and Harvard have accepted those with lower scores than you and rejected those with higher scores so it depends on your essays and recs and stuff.

I got in to MIT!!! Thank you all for posting

Top10 at Stuy with a 2300 will get you in many top places.
