so what are my chances of getting admitted/accepted into MSOE?

bumping up

Hi Hannah!

You sound like a great student and a busy one too.

MSOE looks at four main things for the admission process – 1) your cumulative GPA 2) your composite ACT or SAT score (minus the writing portions on both), 3) your Math sub-score on either the ACT or SAT and 4) your high school backgroud.

So, let’s check them off:

Cumulative GPA – as you stand right now, you are above our minimum requirement.

2 & 3. You stated you haven’t taken them yet so I will share the minimums with you: 22 composite score on ACT and 24 Math sub-score ACT. I would recommend taking the test in February or April and then again in June or October. Most students take the test at least two times. Though you are not required to do so.

Your high school background needs to include up to Trigonmetry or Pre-Calculus for Math, Physics and Chemistry. This is especially important given your interest in Biomedical Engineering. That is MSOE’s pre-med program so you want to be properly prepared.

If you are involved in Science Olympiad Protein Modeling, MSOE just started a scholarship for that too.

If you haven’t already, you also might want to check out their social site at https://admissions.msoe.edu. It is called Bridge and you can interact with current MSOE students, faculty, and other high school students.

Hope all the information helps!
