Essay and teacher recs should be good!

plan on double majoring in journalism and finance.

Unlikely. You do know that SAT Subject Tests are required, right?

improve the sat and you have a good shot. your gpa is above their mean i think.

subject tests are not required

[Standardized Tests](<a href=“Standardized Tests”>Standardized Tests)

I don’t think subject tests are required, so ignore the first poster…

And if you submit your ACT scores, I think you have a decent shot. If you could retake it and raise it, that’d be awesome, but you still have a good shot; especially if you’re doing ED.

@Laurencenguyen It says theres an option to take 3 subject tests rather than the ACT/SAT; not that you need them in addition to them… o.e

mrlaurence, the each say “or;” so please read that before advising me, thanks

applying to stern and CAS btw

CAS - possibly
Stern - not a chance with those SATs

funny how people changed their chances when i said stern and CAS, that is what journalism and finance majors are in.

then get your SAT up, and apply to Stern.

then try and double major journalism from CAS

can’t I major in economics so that I can avoid Stern and double in CAS?

um, you can’t apply to both stern and cas…

that’s why i said double in economics and journalism which are both in CAS, good?

I don’t know if this matters to you but an economics degree isn’t identical to finance… Perhaps there are many job fields that would consider either degree equally for hiring but if you love the idea of finance and studying that in college then I’d consider another school so that you don’t have to study something you don’t like for your years in college! Just something to consider…

Retake the SAT and aim for 2100+. If you can’t, maybe look into other good schools that are SAT-optional (i think Bowdoin is one of them).
