Hook: aunt is alumni
One person writing a letter of rec is a grad of the med program

Hooks posted are for Northwestern. Michigan hooks are both grandparents and uncle are all grads.

Oh and I’m applying to Northwestern ED. Sorry I’m on my phone so its hard to write this.

Northwestern isn’t a public school and anyone other than your parents are not considered legacy. You are in at Michigan, don’t worry.

That’s good about Michigan. Chances for Northwestern? I loved it there so I’d much rather go there than Mich.

Your SAT scores are a little low for Northwestern, try to bring them up, especially that 660 in writing. Other than that you look like you have a decent shot

I thought Northwestern used a 1600 scale.

I would chance you but I have no idea.

They track their writing scores, so I wouldn’t disregard the writing section, even if it holds less weighting in their decision.

What do you mean they track it?

Many schools that use a 1600 scale don’t compile a record of their middle 50% of scores for the writing section. Northwestern does (it’s 670-750 if you were wondering). If they take the time to compile an average for this, it must carry at least SOME weight.

Maybe they just track it but if they use a 1600 scale it’s inherently not counted against you.
